Panama sparks interest among Russians

Last year about 2.5 thousand Russian tourists visited Panama. The main goal of the country’s tourist office is to present Panama as an interesting tourist destination and to attract more tourists.

The Deputy Chairman of Panama Tourism Office Mr. Aernando de Leon de Alba told RIANovosti that the participation in Russian travel trade fairs such as Moscow MITT and Saint Petersburg Inwetex gives perfect experience and understanding of the ways of promoting Panama in the Russian market.

Mr. de Leon recognizes the only complication in arranging a trip to Panama – entry visa requirement. He assured journalists that the Ambassador of Panama to Russia Mr. Julio Ernesto Cordoba de Leon is doing his best to make the visa application procedure as fast as possible. And if he was the only one responsible for such move, visas would be abolished in no time. However this process consists of several stages. Fernando de Leon noted that both Russian and Panama MFAs are currently working on this issue.
