The demand for vacation on Baikal to increase by 20-25%
The demand for vacation on Baikal will increase by 20-25% this summer. This is shown by the data of a survey held by the analytical service of the Baikal information center in May 2012. During this year the Russians will show a lot of interest towards traveling to Baikal.
The survey was held using the
statistics of Yandex.ru search requests from 2009 to the first quarter of 2012.

Thus, during the year 2011, the interest for summer vacation on Baikal, which lasts from May to September, has increased by 20% if compared with 2010, the interest for package tours – by 23%. 51% more users than in 2010 were searching for a hotel in Baikal area. In the opinion of the expert this is a reflection of the All-Russian tendencies – more and more often the Russians choose their own country as a place for vacation.
According to the words of Lilya Akmanturova, in 2012 one more tendency showed up – more detailed requests for tours or hotel booking increase with stronger dynamics than an ordinary vacation on Baikal. This testifies that the people, who are really planning their vacation this year, are looking for Baikal.
According to internet statistics for the first three month of 2012, 43620 people inquired about vacation on Baikal, 17557 people asked for package tours, 12235 searched for hotels on Baikal.
