Tourism management of Hong Kong says
that Russia once again is
leader in the growth of tourist flow to special administrative district Xianggang
(Hong Kong). From January to March 2012 Hong Kong received 50,961 Russian tourist which is 72%
more than during the same period last year, and 160% more than in 2010.
In March 2012, 16,439 Russian tourists
have chosen Hong Kong as their travel
destination, and this is 47.2% more than in March 2011. For comparison, 64.5 thousand
people from Great Britain, 111.5
thousand citizens of the USA,
39.8 thousand people from Canada
and 57.7 thousand Australians, 19.5 thousand French tourists and 23.2 thousand
Germans arrived to Xianggang last month.
All in all in March 2012 Hong Kong was visited by 3 million 709.5 thousand foreign
tourists – this is 16.4% more than in March 2011. And during the first quarter
of this year 11,222,728 tourists from all over the world visited Hong Kong, which is by 15.6% more than in 2011.
