Chinese journalists came to know Moscow

Moscow and Kaliningrad were visited by a representative delegation of All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) with the familiarization purposes. The delegation comprised six top managers of China’s largest newspapers and media groups – Beijing Daily, Hainan Daily, Guangming Daily and “Study” Publishing House.

In the capital the Chinese journalists paid a visit to the Moscow Kremlin Museums, the city’s mansions and parks and held meetings with the colleagues from “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” (The Russian Newspaper), “Novosti” (The News) News Agency, “Russia Today” TV network. They also visited the Moscow City Committee for Tourism and Hotel Industry, where they were warmly welcomed by the Chairman Mr. Sergey Shpilko.

Having mentioned the Muscovites’ growing interest in visiting the Heavenly Empire, Sergey Shpilko turned the guests’ attention to the Government’s efforts to increase the Russian capital’s attractiveness for foreign visitors. He pointed out that in the course of studying the international experience in the branding of world’s greatest tourist destinations, the Russian specialists paid special attention to the success of Beijing, which had undergone expansive promotional activities at various international markets before the 2008 Olympic Games.

In his reply message the Head of the Chinese delegation, President of ACJA Gansu Province Branch Mr. Ma Chenyan rated the latest changes in Moscow’s tourist infrastructure very high: “We can see that today Moscow has become the largest European metropolis with its unique historical diversity and high standards of tourist services at the same time. And it keeps improving”.

After the familiarization trip the Chinese journalists intend to came out with a series of publications on the attractiveness for Chinese tourists of today’s Russia and its capital city.
