Primorye was visited by more than 67 thousand of foreign tourists last year

The number of foreign tourists that visited Primorsky region  last year surpassed 67 thousand guests. This is 27% more than in 2009.

According to the data of the Department of International Cooperation and Tourism of Primorsky region the highest interest to visit the region was shown by people from China.  In 2010 43.7 thousand guests from China visited the region. Substantial number of visits was registered from Republic of Korea (8,1 thousand), Japan (4,2 thousand), USA (4,3 thousand), Canada (1,7 thousand). Besides that Primorye was visited by guests from Australia, Great Britain, Vietnam, Taiwan, Germany, New Zealand, France and other countries.

In outbound tourism the trips to China prevail. Thanks to visa-free exchange program more than 44 thousand Russians visited China. Besides that there were many trips to South Korea, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam.

Domestic tourism grew as well. It reached 730,5 thousand guests, which is 115 thousand more than last year.

In 2010 local organizations developed more than 70 new tourist programs around Primorye. The contest “Leaders of travel industry of Primorye 2010” declared tour “Sister of the Master of Stones” across mountain range Sikhote-Alinya, rafting tour “Primorye race”, tour to the South of Primorye “When ships enter Strelok bay…”, tour to the coast of peninsula of Muraviev-Amursky “Father Ocean”, visit of construction site for APEC-2012 Summit “The bridges to the future” the best itineraries.
