Price ceiling set for Sochi hotels for the Olympics

The government of Russian Federation has set the maximum price for hotel service on the territory of Sochi for the period of the XXII Olympic winter games and the XI Paraolympic winter games in 2014. As stated on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers, the administrations of Krasnodar region and Sochi city-resort are recommended to inform the hotel owners on hotel service cost state regulation in the indicated periods.

According to the Federal law on the organization and holding of the Olympic and Paraolympic winter games of 2014 in Sochi, the state regulation of prices for entrance tickets to the sports events and the opening and closing ceremonies of the games and the price for hotel services can be carried out from January 1, 2013 to 1 July 2014.

This document defines the maximum price for the 5* hotel daily service (rooms of the highest category, suites, apartments, suites and studios) to be 13,896 roubles. Other categories of rooms in the same level hotels should cost no more than 8, 253 roubles (single) and 10,569 roubles (double) per day.

Daily service in 4* hotels (suites, apartments, deluxe rooms and studios) will cost not more than 13 thousand 48 thousand roubles, a single room in same hotels will cost not more than 5 thousand 839 roubles, and a standard double room – 6,492 roubles.

To stay in a suite, apartment, deluxe room or a studio of a 3* hotel you will have to pay up to 9,000 roubles, a single room will cost not more than 4,339 roubles, a double – 5,741 roubles. The maximum price for 2-1* hotel services, as well as for mini-hotels, will amount to 5,741 roubles.

It is marked in the document that if according to the system of hotel classification and other hotel accommodation facilities the hotel provides residents with breakfast, than the daily hotel service price in certain room types should include breakfast for each guest as well.
