Foreign tourists will be able to stay in Russia for three days without the visa
if they travel with cultural purposes. At the moment, the Culture Ministry drafts
such a law, reported the Vice Prime Minister for social issues Olga Golodets to
journalists on Friday evening. “We want to implement the program on inbound tourist
flow growth first of all including our pupils and children across Russia and to
introduce a three-days visa-free inbound tourism for foreign citizens”, - she said.
The Vice prime minister is sure that a three-days-visit visa free regime could
be used while there’s a special cultural event in Russia, for example, Opera week or Ballet
week. “So that the guests could visit The Mariinsky theater and the Bolshoi theater
or the Perm theatre”,
- noted Mrs. Golodets. According to her, a similar practice exists in many countries.
Besides, such practice is available for water transport passengers, for example,
cruise liners in St. Petersburg
and the Russian Far East, reports RIA News.
Olga Golodets stressed that the program is worked out in the Culture Ministry
of Russia, and allegedly in October the bill will be introduced to State Duma.
