Russian tourists are absolute leaders in Goa

Russians crowned the list of charter tourists to Goa. During the period from October 2010 to March 2011 the region welcomed 889 charter flights from Russia. Travelers from Russia became the only leaders of the rating; during above mentioned period of time 87.9 thousand visitors from Russia came to the smallest Indian state. British took the second place with 57.8 arrivals.

Tourists from Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Germany, Norway, France, The Netherlands and Iran fall far behind. Most of the Russians (ca. 20 thousand) came to India in January.

“We have no doubts that Goa’s global popularity keeps growing. This season we see significant upturn in the number of tourists from such countries as Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Russia” – said Goa Travel and Tourism Association official Mr. Ralph de Souza, reports Travel.mail.ru.
