During the 2013 summer navigation, Saint Petersburg sea passenger port the Marine Facade intends to receive 500 thousand passengers – 18.3% more than a year before. According to the operating company's plans, 252 vessels (including ten new ones) are to call at the maritime terminal. Last season the Marine Facade welcomed 226 ships. The passenger flow amounted to 442.67 thousand people, including 411,357 cruise passengers.
The Marine Facade is owned by the city of Saint Petersburg. It is the only passenger port in Russia capable of receiving cruise and ferry ships with a length of up to 311 m and sea gauge of up to 9 m. The length of new approach canals is 10 km, the water depth as per the design is 11 m. The total number of berths – 7, the moorage wall is 2171,06 m long. By 2020 the total number of the terminal's passengers is to reach almost 1.2 million, of which 634 thousand will come by cruise liners and 544 thousand – by ferries. Thus, the yearly growth of passenger traffic will amount to 6%.
