Cuba attracts Russians

The number of Russians that visited Cuba in the first half of 2011 grew by 67.3% compared to the same figure last year and reached 38.4 thousand people – reports the country’s National Statistical Office (ONE).

Russia took the 8^th place in the “inbound” list, leaving behind Mexico. The largest number of tourists come to Cuba from Canada – 657 thousand (10% increase). It is followed by Great Britain, Italy, France, Spain, Germany and Argentina. For the first six months Cuba welcomed 1.5 million foreign visitors, which is 10.6% more compared to the same period last year.

In 2010 Cuba welcomed 2.5 million overseas visitors.
