On
July 1, 2012 Bulgarian consulates started issuing 1-year multi-visas to those
citizens of Russia, Ukraine and Moldova,
who in 2011 visited Bulgaria
with tourism, private or business purposes. A set of documents, needed to apply
for the multi-visa, must include the previous year visa.
The
head of Bulgarian consular service in Moscow Mr. Angel Georgiyev told RATA-news
that the decision to grant multi-visas was aimed at stimulating the tourist
flow. As you may remember it's not the first step of Bulgaria to simplification of
border formalities. Since the beginning of 2012 the Russians, holders of
Schengen multi-visas, have been able to enter Bulgaria without national entry
permit. This rule, as Mr. Georgiyev claims, will stay in force until Bulgaria's
joining the Schengen Agreement, which is about to happen this autumn.
