The number of Russian tourists on Mauritius increased by 17%

In 2010 more than 6.6 thousand Russian tourists visited Mauritius, that is 17% more than in 2009, Moscow representative office of the Ministry of Tourism and Vacation of Mauritius reported to Interfax-tourism. The rate of the increase of Russian guests is more than twice higher than similar index of arrivals of all foreign tourists  (more than 934 thousand in 2010). The highest level of increase of Russian tourists compared to last year was reported in December and reached 45,5%.

Most probably the growth will continue because on January 3 Transaero started operating direct flights from Moscow to Mauritius. The flight is operated once in 10 days with Boeing 777, capacity – 306 passengers.
