Hop On Hop Off waterbuses across Moscow

13:41, 21 мая 2013

City Sightseeing, the world's largest tour operator on double decker buses, launched a new service during the May holidays in Moscow – waterbuses excursions. Since May 1, from the docks at Bolotnaya Square, the Gorky Park and the New Monastery of the Saviour draw away river passenger ships Idegey and Venice painted in bright red color of the world-famous brand City Sightseeing.

Waterbuses operate on same principles as the tour buses Hop On Hop Off: a tourist can get off the bus for sightseeing at any bus stop he likes and then continue the excursion on the next bus.

According to the general director of the City Sightseeing Moscow office Roman Krylov, launching such type of excursions on Moscow River is a logical addition to the bus tours: “A special intermodal combo-ticket was introduced. It costs 1000 rubles and allows not only to save money but also gives the rights to go sightseeing on our double decker buses and waterbuses an unlimited number of times within 48 hours. One can make a change at Bolotnaya Square near the Repin monument on Luzhkov Bridge.

Motor ships are designed for 33 people. An excursion lasts one hour. The route goes around the Golden Isles along drainage channels coming to the Gorky Park. 8-lingual audio system is installed on the waterbuses: trips are conducted in Russian, English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Italian and Arabic. A 24-hour ticket for an adult (15-59 years old) costs 600 rubles; for pensioners, students and children aged from 5 to15 tickets cost 500 rubles. Free service is provided for children under 5 years old, veterans, people with disabilities of all categories, journalists.
