Tropical fever poses no threat to Russians

The outbreak of Denge Fever in Trinidad and Tobago will not have serious aftereffect on travel market. The tourist flow from Russia to this country practically equals zero, which was confirmed by our polling of Russian tour operators working with the Caribbean states.

Not long ago Rostourism referring to MFA issued a warning about the outbreak of the fatal disease. The latest reports show that 1.7 thousand people have been contaminated. An eight-year old kid died from this virus. In order to prevent the disease from spreading Rostourism reminded tour operators to make sure to inform their clients who wish to visit the regions with hot and humid climate and bad epidemiologic situation about the safety measures approved by Russia’s Federal Service on Customers' Rights Protection and Human Well-being Surveillance. Fortunately there are no Russian citizens among the contaminated.

The “Caribbean Club”, “Russian Express” and “Vand International Tour” travel companies said in an interview that Trinidad and Tobago, located in southern part of Caribbean Sea, not far from Venezuelan coast, is out of the list of the destinations visited by the Russians. Neither have they any individual requests.

The Denge Fever cause high body temperature, pain in bones, joints and muscles, bleeding. According to WHO data every year this disease infects 50 million and kills 20 thousand people. Most of the cases occur in South-East Asia and Western Pacific. Thus, last year the outbreaks were recorded in Malaysia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Sudan< Columbia and even Russia, where it was brought to by tourists from Thailand and Bali.
