Altai region will receive one million tourists

More than 1.1 million tourists will visit Altai region in 2011. That’s the prognosis of the Central administrative board of economy and investments. During the first nine months of 2010 the region was visited by 880000 guests, including 60000 foreign tourists.

The amount of private investments in the tourism of the region during January – September period reached more than 500 million rubles. Health resort “Rossia” put into service eco-hotel “Echo”, finishes off building of health-spa complex “Aqua-Vita-Therme”. “Resort “Belokurikha” company opened hotel complex “Pomestie” and center “Vodny mir”. Two new hotels opened in Yarovoy, five more accommodation facilities opened in Altai region.

In 2010 the number of families engaged in rural tourism increased. According to the data of Regional Administration of business development and market infrastructure there are 234 entrepreneurs specialized on farm tourism that received more than 12,6 thousand tourists in 2010. Their joint income reached 5.1 million rubles, they got 258 credits for 26.1 million rubles.
