Russian market is the fifth most significant for Cannes

The number of Russian tourist nights in Cannes in 2010 rose by 3% year-on-year to 120 thousand. “Russian market is the fifth most important among all foreign countries. Russians make 8% of all tourists coming to Cannes. The 4-star Сroisette Beach Hotel, where I am employed as the General Manager, the number of guests from Russia amounts to 12%. We are very delighted to see the growing number of Russians coming to attend various conferences, seminars and exhibitions. Thus, the number of Russian visitors to the MIPIM real estate trade fair picked up 7% last year” – said to RIANovosti the President of Cannes Hotel Association Mr. Michel Chevillon.

He added that 70% Russians prefered top and medium segment hotels, however the third part went for budget accommodation and residences and also stayed for longer periods of time.

The General Manager of the Martinez Hotel Mr. Richard Shilling also noticed that the number of Russian guests to this 5-star hotel is 12%.
