Two-roubles fee of FMS is canceled

08:07, 7 февраля 2011

The cancellation of the 2-roubles per day fee of the Federal Migration Service for keeping the record of foreigners staying in the hotels will save the nerves and money of the  hoteliers of St.Petersburg. The image of the city and the country would improve a bit too.

According to the federal law upon arrival each foreign guest should visit bank branch and pay the two-roubles per day state duty for his stay. The hotels in order not to loose the clients were forced to pay this fee themselves. Thus sequence to the inspection of UFMS Sergey Morev, owner of LLC “Hotels of St.Petersburg” had to pay extraordinary fine of almost 1 mio roubles.

The key players of the market think that the cancellation of this fee will have positive effect. Main plus of this cancellation will be the improvement of the image of the city that would become more foreigner-friendly. «Many foreign guests cannot understand why they should pay something extra if they already paid for the visa», - mentioned the manager of “German Club” hotel Elena Rechits.
