08:07, 22 июля 2011

Around 65 thousand Russian tourists visited Croatia in the first half of 2011, which is 16% more compared to the same period of the previous year – was told to Interfax Tourism by the director of Moscow office of Croatian National Tourism Organization Mr. Mladlen Falkoni. He also revealed that the number of overnights spent by the Russians in Croatia grew by 19% compared to the period from January to June 2010 and reached about 735 thousand.

The total inflow of foreign tourists in this period increased by 11%, and the number of German tourists, that are the Russians’ closest competitors in terms of arrivals, added 12%.

“We hope that by the end of this year the number of Russian tourists will increase by 20% compared to the previous year and will reach 200 thousand. The growth will continue in 2012, but might fall slightly in 2013 when Croatia joins Schengen Agreement” – noted Mr. Falkoni.
