Russian travelers know where to go this summer

08:07, 7 июня 2013

Having analyzed the Russians' search statistics, the online travel service Momondo figured out where they would like to go this summer season. The 2013's rating looks a lot like the last year's and includes Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Germany, Montenegro, Russia, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Croatia.

Spain's Mediterranean coast and the islands of Greece are still holding on to the leading position; besides the two destinations have grown 16% and 11.2% respectively compared to the previous year. Supposedly thanks to the visa regime facilitation and a drop in prices for beach holidays. They are closely followed by Italy, France, and Germany that dilute the list of beach destinations with a bit of sightseeing in Paris, Rome, and Berlin. Southern France and Italy's Venice Beach are becoming more and more popular, too, shows the Momondo's survey. Unexpectedly, Montenegro replaced Ukraine and entered the top-5, having gone up from the 11th place.

The new rating has also revealed some outsiders: Cyprus has lost 30.4%. Perhaps, because of its bank sector problems that scared off some of the Russians.
