Russia takes lead in terms of growth of China inbound tourist flow
About 2 billion Chinese tourists traveled around their homeland in 2010. This figure increased by 10% compared to 2009. 55 million foreign tourists came to China, 57 million Chinese left the country with purpose of tourism, which is 20% more than in 2009. This data was brought to light by the Deputy Director of China’s chief administration for tourism Mr. U Wensuye during the meeting of the Chinese delegation and Deputy Chairman of RosTourism Mr. Alexander Rad’kov.
As for the tourist flow from Russia around 2370 thousand Russians visited China in 2010, which is 36% more compared to previous year. Mr. U Wensuye underlined that in terms of growth dynamics of the tourist flow Russia places first. Besides that 711 thousand Chinese tourists came to Russia last year having showed 4% increase.
Mr. Wensuye informed about the first Chinese-Russian forum devoted to near-border tourism thay will take place in Manchuria (Inner Mongolia province) in May 2011, and invited his Russian colleagues to participate.
