Israel is going to increase its expenseson promotional activities on the Russian market in 2015. According to recently
appointed Head of the country's Tourism Ministry department in Russia and CIS, Ms Ksenia Kobyakova, Russia has been declared one of the most
strategically important markets for the Middle East
country's travel trade.
At a meeting with the press and tour
operators held in Moscow, Ms Kobyakova pointed
out that despite the tough economic situation the popularity of Israel among
the Russians was not fading. Over the first ten months of the current year, the
country has been visited by 356 thousand Russian tourists - 7% more when
compared to the same period last year. And that excluding one-day visitors
coming from Egypt.
In 2013, Israel welcomed the total of
603 thousand Russian tourists.
Israeli ambassador to Russia, Ms Dorit Golender, added that her
country is very happy to welcome guests from Russia and expressed her fellow
citizens' joy about the growth of the tourist flow.
