20% more charter flights from Moscow airports
Internationalpassenger traffic from airports of Moscow area is growing faster than that of
domestic flights. Thus, in 2012, the year-on-year increase on overseas routes was
16.5% as opposed to 9.5% on internal flights. At the end of the first nine
months of 2013 – 12.8% and 9.6% respectively.
Moscow-bound
charter flights to and from holiday destinations in other countries have been
following the upward trend as well. Over the previous year, the increase in
passenger flow was 18.2%; this figure is very likely to be beaten by the end of
2013 since already in September it has reached 17.7% year-on-year.
Among the
best performing destinations are Spain (+18.5% year-on-year), Bulgaria (+16%),
Montenegro (+15.6%), Italy (+29.2%), Greece (+29.8%), Cyprus (+23.6%), and
Turkey (+14%).
